W3C Tool for Comparing Colors
This is a tool for comparing colors that was created by W3C for determining the contrast between a color and the background of the website. The tool analyzes a specified color (Web Page, Text, Background, Foreground) and returns a value indicating its compliance with the color contrast requirement of the accessibility guidelines specified in the web content and user agent accessibility guidelines for color contrast.
The tool can also be used to test the compliance with a specified challenge vision. The tool is capable of evaluating web content (Web Page, Text, Background, Foreground) and its accessibility compliance for color contrast. It displays the results on the screen, and provides the user with the ability to save the results for later analysis.
The extension allows users to pick colors from a web site, to compute the contrast of these colors and to preview the results.
The tool displays in the toolbar a list of 10 Web Page challenges, from which the user can pick a single one.
The users can also choose a background color and a foreground color to compare and to see the results.
